Best Charcoal Chimney Starter 2024
For those of you who are looking for the best charcoal chimney starter I highly recommend the Weber Rapidfire Chimney starter. I grill quite a bit, and have used several different types, but this one just holds up so much better than the other ones I’ve used.
This one is a rather larger charcoal chimney starter, as it will hold enough charcoal to fire up your 22 ½ kettle charcoal grill, so it isn’t small. I use it for my smoker as well. You don’t always have to use charcoal briquettes in these either, you can use lump charcoal too.
This starter lights up the charcoal quickly and evenly. The nice thing about using one of these is you can ditch the lighter fluid. No more stinky chemicals to breathe in, or to saturate your food. All you need to do is crumple up about 3 sheets of news paper and place them in the bottom of the chimney. Just fill it with charcoal and light the paper, and your good to go.
It’s made out of aluminized steel with what they call a thermoplastic handle that stays cool. No worries about burning your hand grabbing the handle. It’s also got this “U†shaped metal bar that goes across the handle and moves up and down. That is just another handle in which you can grab to pour the charcoal. Sometimes when I start my charcoal and am ready to dump them on the grill, the flames are too hot, so I like to grab some heat resistant gloves, just so I don’t burn myself.
If you have a charcoal grill, this is the only way to go. It is so much easier, and cleaner than using lighter fluid, and you don’t have to worry if you run out of fluid. Plus you don’t have the added expense. The Weber chimney starter is a lot better than the flimsy cheap ones I’ve used. I use mine constantly and it has held up over the years.
If you are looking for the best charcoal chimney starter, than this is the one you want to check out.
