A T-bone steak is a cut of meat from the short loin section. It has a “T†shaped bone with meat on both sides of it. On one side you have a tenderloin steak and on the other side you have a strip steak, or New York Strip.
T-bone steaks and Porterhouse steaks are essentially the same steak; it is just that the Porterhouse is a larger cut. The T-bone has a smaller tenderloin filet compared to the Porterhouse and is cut from the front end of the short loin. A T-bone is the perfect cut of meat to grill.
If you are going to have a good steak like a T-bone, you are going to need some good steak knives, these ones are my favorite.
