There are a ton of different glazes you could do for a ham, but this has got to be one of my favorite spiral sliced ham glaze recipes. This glaze recipe uses honey and cloves and make for a really tasty spiral cut ham. You could also use this glaze when cooking a half or whole ham too.
Honey Glazed Spiral Sliced Ham
Cook your ham according to the directions on the package. It is usually around 325F for 18-25 minutes per pound until it reaches an internal
temperature of 160F. I really like grill my ham, so you might want to check out how to grill ham for more information on preparing it that way. Whichever way you cook your ham the glaze will be the same.
Here is what you will need:
- 5lb Spiral Sliced Ham
- 2 cups Honey
- 1/4 cup Corn syrup
- 2/3 cup Butter
- 1/4 cup Whole Cloves
While the ham is cooking heat the remaining ingredients in a small sauce pan and mix well. Keep this glaze mixture over low heat so you can baste the ham during cooking. Baste the ham with the honey glaze, and then continually baste every 15 minutes throughout its cooking time.
When I cook the ham in the oven I like to turn on the broiler during the last 5 minutes of cooking time to caramelize the glaze.
This is such a simple spiral sliced ham glaze recipe, but I really like it because it adds a ton of flavor and is so easy to make.
