Today we are going to make some really tasty grilled pork chops. We are going to baste the chops with a basting sauce that uses a bit of hoisin. I really like hoisin sauce in my Asian dishes, and it really works well for this recipe. So let’s get to it.
Hoisin Grilled Pork Chops
4 Pork Chops
1/2 cup BBQ Sauce
1/4 Hoisin Sauce
2 tbsp Dry Sherry, optional
1 tbsp Honey
1/2 tsp Garlic Pepper
1/4 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Ground Ginger
Set up your gas or charcoal grill for direct grilling over medium heat. While the grill is heating up, we are going to get our basting sauce ready. Using a 1 quart saucepan mix together the barbecue sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, and sherry over medium heat. Mix it until it is well blended; it should take maybe 5 minutes. If you don’t have hoisin sauce, you can get some here.
Once the grill is heated up sprinkle both sides of the pork chops with the ground ginger, salt, and garlic pepper. Note, that it is not garlic and pepper separate, it is a garlic pepper seasoning. Here is the stuff I use.
Once the chops are seasoned, place them on the grill directly over the heat. While you are grilling the pork chops you will want to baste them frequently with the hoisin mixture. I like to use this cast iron basting set. I’m able to keep the sauce warm while I grill.
It will take approximately 10 to 12 minutes to grill the chops, and you will want to flip them half way through grilling. Grill time will vary depending upon the thickness of your chops, but the internal temperature should read 145F when they are done. I use this instant read thermometer to test for doneness.
That is all there is too it. These Hoisin Grilled Pork Chops are really simple to make and they have some really good flavor. I think you are going to love these.
