1 large habanero pepper, stem removed & chopped
1/2 stick butter
1 1/2 tbsp onion, chopped
1 tbsp cayenne pepper
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp cumin, ground
1 tbsp brown sugar
4 skewers
Peel and devein the shrimp. Rinse them under cold water and thread 5 to 6 of them on each skewer.
Using a saute pan, saute the onions and garlic in the butter. Remove from the heat and place in a food processor or blender. Add in the cayenne, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, black pepper, cumin, brown sugar, and habanero. Blend until it is smooth. Brush this mixture onto the shrimp. Allow it to marinate for approximately 1 hour in the refrigerator.
Set up your gas or charcoal grill for medium-high heat.
Place the skewers on the grill and cook for around 3 minutes per side, flipping once half way through. Once they are done they will be opaque.
Sprinkle on a bit of paprika and serve immediately.
