Today we are going to show you how to make Grilled Honey Mustard Cornish Game Hens.
Cornish game hens are something that I rarely have, but they are so delicious. And I tell you, they are even better on the grill.
If you’ve never had them before you will really like the flavor especially with the honey mustard. Even if you’ve had game hens before you are sure to dig this recipe.
Enjoy!
Grilled Honey Mustard Cornish Game Hens
2 Cornish game hens, halved lengthwise
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
1 large shallot, minced
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
2 tsp honey
freshly ground black pepper to taste
In a medium mixing bowl combine the Dijon mustard, shallot, lime juice, honey, and pepper.
With a basting brush, coat both sides of the Cornish game hens. Place them in a covered container and refrigerate for at least an hour, preferably longer.
Set up your gas or charcoal grill for high heat.
Place the game hens on the grate and grill for approximately 30 minutes, turning once half way through grilling, and basting throughout. Here is the basting set that I use.
