Today we are going to show you how to make Chipotle Spiced Shrimp.
Shrimp is so quick and easy to do on the grill and there are so many different marinades you could try.
This particular recipe is a spicy chipotle marinade that adds a pretty good zip and flavor to the shrimp. I’m sure you will really like this one.
Enjoy!
Chipotle Spiced Shrimp
1/2 lb uncooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 1/2 tsp water
1/2 tsp extra virgin olive oil
1/2 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp chipotle chili powder
1/2 tsp fresh oregano, chopped
Clean and rinse the shrimp under cold water. Dry with a paper towel and set aside.
In a small bowl mix together the tomato paste, water, and olive oil. Once it is mixed well, add in the garlic, chili powder, and oregano. Mix well.
The marinade is rather thick, so you will want to use a basting brush to spread the marinade on both sides of the shrimp. Once you have marinaded all the shrimp place them in the refrigerator.
Set up your gas or charcoal grill for high heat.
Place the shrimp on the grill over the heat source. You can either do this by using skewers,or a grill basket. I really like using a grill basket especially if I’m grilling up a bunch of veggies as well. Here is the grill basket I use. Grill for approximately 6 – 8 minutes turning half way through. The shrimp will be opaque once it is finished.
Place the shrimp on a plate and serve immediately.
