Here is a simple recipe for Asian BBQ Chicken Thighs. This recipe is so quick and easy, the marinade gives it so much flavor. For the absolute best flavor I like to marinade my chicken overnight, this way the chicken thighs have a lot longer to soak up the tasty marinade.
This recipe uses one of my favorite sauces, Sriracha. It is an Asian chili sauce that you can find at many grocery stores; otherwise you can get it here. I use this sauce on so many things, from my eggs in the morning to on a hot dog. It’s a really good spicy sauce that gives this recipe a kick.
Asian BBQ Chicken Thighs
4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp lime juice
2 tbsp orange juice
1 tbsp sweet chili sauce
1 tsp Sriracha sauce
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 tsp curry powder
In a small mixing bowl combine all the ingredients minus the chicken thighs. Mix it well until the sugar is dissolved. Put your chicken thighs into a resealable plastic storage bag and dump the marinade over them. Push all the air out of the bag and seal it up. Flip the bag several times to ensure that the chicken is coated well.
Put it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours. Like I said before it is so much better if you let the thighs marinate overnight.
Once the chicken has marinated, set up your gas or charcoal grill for medium heat. Oil your grate and place the chicken thighs on them. Reserve the marinade and pour into a sauce pan. Bring the marinade to a boil, and use it to baste the chicken throughout grilling. I like to use a cast iron basting set like this, because I can heat it up on the grill while making my foods.
Grill the chicken for around 25 to 30 minutes until it is no longer pink in the middle. Make sure to flip them about half way through grilling, and also continue to baste them throughout.
This Asian BBQ chicken thigh recipe is really good, and you can swap out the thighs for breasts, or even a flank steak. Enjoy!
