MasteringTheFlame.com Gets a Facelift

by Tom on November 28, 2008

I’ve decide to give the site a facelift.  I just wasn’t “feeling” the previous theme.  It seemed to distracting and cluttered.  Although none of my readers said anything, I thought it was difficult to read.  I’ve been wanting a cleaner, easier to read theme for sometime now.  I decided to pull the trigger today and switch it up.

The way it currently looks will change as well.  I will be putting in more changes and features over the next several weeks until I get the site to a point that I feel is comfortable and inviting.

Making these changes in a learning process for me, so some updates may take more time than others.  Please be patient as I work through these changes.

I love input from my readers, so any comments or suggestions are appreciated.  Let me know how your liking the new look.

congratulations on switching over to thesis!

I’m sure you’ll find it a great theme which is super customisable and has great SEO features.

Its great to see another foodblog using this theme :D so far, i think you’re the third one i’ve come across.

I use it too btw, so do head on over to londoneater.com to have a look sometime.

I really like the theme so far. I like that it is very clean and easy to read in comparison to other themes.

I still have work to do on customizing it. It is good to know other food bloggers are using it. I’d like to check out how others have customized it to food blogging.

Thanks for stopping by.

I don’t know what your blog looked like before, but I definitely like the look now. I recently changed themes too because I felt that mine was too dark. A light background really sets off your pictures. I really like the three-column look too!

Hi Mindy, thanks for stopping by and for the compliment on the blog. My previous theme wasn’t too bad, but it was darker. For me, it seemed tougher to read because of that. The lighter themes seem more inviting and easier to read in my opinion.

Thesis is very powerful and customizable. Play around with it and make this site your own, unique portal.

So far so cool Nate. I’m really liking Thesis. A lot to still learn and do.
